BeeSpoke Privacy Policy

BeeSpoke ("we," "us," or "our") is currently in prototype or early-access development. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Because the App is in prototype stage, we collect the following categories of data:
Account Information
If you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. This is provided voluntarily.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the App, including device type, operating system, app version, language settings, features accessed, and session duration. This is used for testing, debugging, and improving the App.
Text Input
Text you enter into the Explore or Practice features is collected and transmitted to our servers to provide the language learning functionality. This content may be periodically reviewed by our team to improve the App. Text input is processed using third-party AI APIs (see Section 4).
Audio Input
Audio recorded through the Practice feature is collected and transmitted to our servers to support speech-based language learning. Audio data may be processed by third-party speech services (see Section 4). Please do not record conversations involving sensitive personal information, and do not record other individuals without their consent.
Feedback
Any feedback or bug reports you submit voluntarily may be stored and used to improve the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Operate, deliver, and improve App functionality
Fix bugs and analyze performance
Improve and develop language learning features, including AI-powered features
Communicate with you about the App (support, updates, changes)
Monitor for abuse, security issues, or violations of our Terms of Service
Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data to serve advertising, and we do not sell your data to third parties. AI-generated content produced by the App is for language learning purposes only and does not constitute professional advice.
3. Data Retention
We retain account information and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. Text and audio inputs may be retained for up to 12 months for the purpose of improving app features. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7). We may retain data longer if required by law or to resolve disputes.
Your data may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
As this is a prototype, data persistence is not guaranteed. Please do not rely on the App as a primary store for any information.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with the following categories of third-party service providers, only to the extent necessary to provide the App's functionality:
Cloud hosting and infrastructure (e.g., Firebase or equivalent)
Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics or equivalent) — to understand usage patterns
AI and language processing APIs (e.g., Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, Google Text-to-Speech, Anthropic Claude API) — to power Practice and language learning features
Crash reporting and diagnostics tools
Each third-party provider is subject to its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function; data sent to AI providers is used solely for processing your requests and is not used by those providers to train their models, in accordance with our API agreements.
We may also disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BeeSpoke Inc., our users, or the public.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls. However, since this is an early access application, we cannot guarantee absolute security or data permanence.
Please do not enter sensitive personal information such as financial account details, government ID numbers, or passwords into the App.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in jurisdictions where a higher age applies under applicable law, such as the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated personal data at any time directly within the App via the Settings tab. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Opt-out: Opt out of certain data uses (e.g., analytics)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@beespokeapp.com. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days (or 45 days where required by law, such as under the CCPA).
California Residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal data we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification or email. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy will reflect the date of the most recent update.
